Brewing news India: Indians drink more alcohol, inclusively beer

Indians would drink more alcohol. Its production for 2005 has registered an increase of 43,7% as compared with 2004, amounting to 17,366,000 litres this year. According to the same report from Asia pulse, the beer exports have as well grown in all the months from July 2004, except for the month of February 2005. The augmentation in production and increased imports and exports indicate a spurt in demand for beer for both domestic consumption and exports.

The most important breweries in the area, sensing the increase demand of beer, have revealed a list of intentions as for instance the introduction of non-alcoholic, a "low-calorie" beer , etc. on the beer market of India .
